A followup to last night’s post about popular baby names; here are my own personal favorites, which I hope will not be sweeping the nation in the next five years…

They also all make excellent dog or cat names, I think.
For more time-wasting having to do with U.S. popular names, check out the social security website, where you can see lists of the top tens from 1880-1919, from 1920-1959, and from 1960-1997.
Milo! That’s my favorite boys name. Everyone else seems to think it’s shitty. I like Henry also.
Treacly has Gordie, Nora and Stella, three of the greatest names, IMO. I’ll name my kids after the factory positions I will have them fill in the basement.

Ginger?…Ginger? Isn’t that your name?
I’ll put in a plug for Emmanuelle, Margot, Forest and
Theodore. Veronica is nice but she’ll always have an Archie chasing after her.
Re: clip/save
Heh, no. Ginger is my online handle. Jane is the name I answer to IRL.
STELLA! That’s my momma’s name. Well, the Anglo version of it. Her real name is Estela, which I think is beautiful, too.
Ginger, a lot of those names have hit the very common parlance of late, namely: Caroline, Anne (a perennial favorite because everyone wants to give their kids their own middle name), Laurel and Lucy for girls. Alexander (if I meet one more kid nicknamed Zander I’ll throw up), Finn, Forst, Graham, James, Julian, Parker, Sean and Theodoer have all shown some prominence in the circles I frequent (meaning I know at least two, if not more, of each).
I have about eight friends (no exageration) who thought they were being SO original naming their kid Sophie – now my kids have no less than a zillion Sophies in their circle (slight exageration): Sophie G., Sophie U., Sophie C., Sophie P., Sophie J., Sophie W., and that’s just the ones we see at least weekly. Also popular for the girls: Talia, Ava, Grace, Allison.
