We still get so much mail for the guys who used to live in our apartment. About 99% of it is of course junk. Ugh. They didn’t put any kind of forward in place and naturally the post office doesn’t give a shit. So I am now accustomed to taking a few pieces of mail every day to the recycle bin. I tried leaving a note to the mail carrier saying hey, these guys MOVED, but it did absolutely no good — our mailman is retarded and also regularly delivers our upstairs neighbor’s mail to our slot. Drunk?
Anyway, the point of this story is that there is a silver lining. The guy who used to live here, moved away, and left no forwarding address, also apparently belonged to some kind of quarterly wine club. So every three months we happily receive three shiny bottles of $30 – $50 Italian red vino. Mmmm. I’m okay with presents.
It would be nice if the previous tennants of our next apartment belonged to a quarterly money club…
I was thinking of your post yesterday, when I helped myself to yet another free lunch at work. The Execs constantly (like 3 times a week at least) have “working lunches” so inevitably around 3pm there is a handsome tray of (of course) Sara Lee sandwiches sitting out. My budget thanks work sincerely!
