had to work

January 29, 2005 by Jane

Today was mostly swell. It was sunny and bright all day. We got up around nine, had coffee and french toast, and took it easy. At around eleven, we headed downtown to Nordstrom for their big designer suit clearance sale. Fifty percent off very good men’s suits, for only three days. Brian is buying his suit for the wedding rather than renting; it’s just a much better investment, especially since he doesn’t own a full suit anyway. Not to mention it will look a million times better.

So, we found one on the clearance rack — originally it was $900, marked down to $450. It’s a Joseph Abboud three-button suit in a very dark brown. The trousers are being altered, but it otherwise fit Brian very well, and was super flattering to his skin and hair. He looked so gorgeous in it, OMG. My handsome dream date! Then one of the sales ladies went downstairs and found the perfect tie. All we need now is a fine white shirt and some brown wingtip shoes and he’s done.

So then, I had to go to work. Where I sat for the rest of the afternoon, which was a drag. A bigger drag was the Indian take out food that was ordered for everyone there. Which came back to haunt me painfully hours later.

Having recovered from that, Brian and I chilled out the rest of the night watching the final episode of our Japanese samurai show on channel 8, and knitting. I am so ready for sleep now. I plan to stay close to home for sure tomorrow.

    Brian’s suit

Would Brian like/need a tie (Jerry Garcia) to go with his suit, something with brown and green or blue or even rust? They are all so unusual, unique. Love, Mom
