breakfast:
apple walnut muffin from the verygood bakery in my neighborhood
hard-cooked egg with sprinkle of salt
lunch:
wheat bread with organic peanut butter and toasted oatmeal on top
apple
dinner: (planned)
sardine
crackers and cheese
carrots and cucumber salad
jasmine rice
mmm all of that, except the sardine, sounds heavenly! =) I have been looking and looking at information today on hydroxycut and relacore – both weight loss pills. Even though they say you lose more weight with them…the point is still the same – increase output (exercise) decrease input (calories)…and I don’t feel safe taking 3 pills before every meal…that scares me. So, I was looking at slim fast stuff because I’m on the go all the time and I grab fast food because I have no time or place or a kitchen to stock with good healthy food. Maybe those would work for me? My psych professor, who was a body builder until his knee injury, said that nutritional things like slim fast are actually a good thing because it gives you everything you need like protien and good vitamins. I am seriously going to try harder to get up at 6 and walk for 1/2 hr every day, I really think it will help. I think I’m going to check out some pilates videos too – I could do that in the warmth of my room (the treadmill is outside and there aren’t walking paths close by). Let me know what you think =)
You don’t have a kitchen? Surely you can get some healthy food into your kitchen somehow 🙂
I don’t recommend taking diet pills at all. Apart from the health risks and the fact that tehy very well may not work, they are pretty expensive. I also wouldn’t do slim fast either. It’s filled with sugar and carbs.
You need to cut the refined sugar out of your diet and start eating six small meals a day instead of three big meals. That alone will make a difference. Do you have hand weights? Do three sets each of different arm exercises with hand weights (or full water bottles) while watching tv at night. I did that last night, and then lay down on the floor in front of the tv and did 100 crunches.
It’s hard work, there’s no getting around that will pills or shakes. But yeah, do those two things I described above: small meals, cut out sugar.
Sorry for all the typos!
There’s no getting around that with pills or shakes, is what I meant.
Yeah the more I looked at the pills, the more I realized I couldn’t do that to my body. I think the six small meals thing might work well. Yesterday and today I’ve done pretty well with eating healthily! Maybe if I can keep this up and exercise it’ll do the trick.
You’re definitely right…it will be hard work. But, I guess the whole point is making a lifestyle change, right? So, that’s what I’m going to try to do =) I’m proud of myself today, there’s a whole basket of reese’s cups (one of my favs) in front of me at work – I’m the Office Professional so the candy for the bay is on my desk – and I keep getting a whiff of chocolate but I haven’t had one yet! One small victory for me 🙂
What kinds of foods do you think would be good? Thanks!
