So I was all bummed about how I should be counting calories now and wondering if I am going to need to buy a book or what, then I remembered, duh: http://www.fitday.com.

This book I’m reading devoted a whole chapter to how one the best ways to increase metabolism and burn fat is to eat five to six small meals a day instead of three big ones. And make dinner the smallest meal and breakfast the largest. I LOVE this idea. Because I love breakfast. Just need to actually get organized enough to follow through with it.

Ideally, a woman my size would eat five meals per day, like so:

8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm. And then stop, no late-night eating. I’m so amenable to that.

My breakfast this morning was 428 calories, which is about perfect. The next four meals I eat should be between 250 and 300 calories. Every three hours. Whee!

Next on my menu is a banana and a hard-boiled egg.

Oh, fitday.com counts everything for me. It’s a cool site. I’ve never counted a calorie before in my life.

I’m just trying to develop a structure that will be healthy for my metabolism. It forces you to be very thoughtful about what you eat, instead of just stuffing your face with whatever. I think I can learn to break my day up into five small meals pretty easily.
