geekery

February 9, 2005 by Jane

Very cool Java toy, which Leonard showed me. It’s a baby name database, but it’s done with a fully graphical interface. You’ll see. I checked out the code and it uses an applet with a .jar file. Those things are becoming more familiar to my eyes, along with .war and .ear files.

(JAR = Java Archive, WAR = Web Application Archive, EAR = Enterprise Application Archive. I know, whatever.)

My foot hurts so I skipped the gym this morning. The last thing I want to do is make that worse.

This afternoon I am checking out a suite at a hotel for the night before the wedding, and then going to try on my wedding gown. Then after that is assembling the invitations. Whee! It’s a bridey day.
