lovely saturnday

June 11, 2005 by Jane

Today has been great. Woke up to the sound of the coffeemaker sighing. Had a cup. Did some stretching. Made large gorgeous pot of cooked old-fashioned oatmeal with cinnamon, raisins, and cooked fresh green apples (I do this about every weekend; Brian insists). Went to Trader Joe’s together. Came home and read magazines and watched Belmont Stakes while Brian napped. Then we went for a long walk in Golden Gate Park, where the weather was dazzling. Rose gardens, Shakespeare’s Garden, meadows, lakes. Just got back in and Brian is putting the coals in the grill so we can BBQ tonight.

We’ve neglected the housework (except for washing the very dirty kitchen rug), but there’s always tomorrow for that.

    mm that oatmeal sounds delicious!

I’ve been trying to find that oatmeal cookie recipe but with no luck, searched epicurious for “oatmeal cookie” amongst other things, but I cannot find a 7 spices recipe.

I couldn’t find it either, and now I don’t remember where I got it. Sigh.
