I’m having my first “real” period in about six years. It’s heavier, and I am crankier. I should be drinking some water or tea or something. Anyway, it’s an interesting feeling to be mildly disappointed by the appearance of Aunt Flo. But at least I can now get all regulated and figure out my cycle again.

It’s 8:37 and our house has had no trick or treaters. We allegedly live in one of the most “residential” neighborhoods in SF. But it is also the most “Chinese.” I bet that the richer and whiter the hood, the more kids allowed to venture out into those evil dark streets. Right? Of course when I was a kid, our neighborhood was lower-middle class, and you don’t get much darker than living in a place literally in the middle of the woods. And we trick or treated our faces off, without parents, for hours. Ahhh.

Going to the gym every day this week. That’s my goal, don’t let me down, me.

According to census, our neighborhood is 98% Anglo-Saxan, 1% Hispanic, 0.5% African-American and 0.5% Asian/Pacific Islander. Kids stopped by for trick-or-treating from 4pm through 7pm. Nobody came after 7pm except a group of ten high schoolers who boldly said “nobody else is coming– give us all your candy!”

I think it’s not so much your ethnic make-up of your town, but rather a generational difference. Kids dont trick-or-treat as late as we used to, when we were kids.

Yep, drink some caffienated tea or eat some chocolate or almonds. Almonds for replacing the iron, the tea and chocolate for the caffiene which helps with the cramps and things – its the main ingredient in those midol/pamprin products.

No kidding, even in my childhood, it was the “good ole days” where kids actually got to be KIDS and get into trouble and experience life.

I agree. I don’t think that kids trick or treat as much. I’ve never had a single trick or treater knock on my door and I’ve lived in residential neighborhoods.
