Yesterday I went down to San Carlos for another delightful afternoon of lunch and shopping with my best gf Tamara. As usual, I forgot that it actually takes about 40 minutes to get to her house from my house. And that’s in very light traffic. On the way I listened to some sports talk radio. Sean Salisbury was just ADAMANT that the Seahawks would lose. He was all, they’re a good team and all, but I’ve been pulling for Carolina “since August.” Good job, dude.
Anyway, from the non-girly to the girly, we hopped in Tamara’s car and headed for the Stanford shopping center. I picked up some conditioner at Kiehl’s, Tamara used a Sephora gift card on some eye liner, and I bought myself a rather fabulous wallet. Oh and we had lunch at Nordstrom Cafe. Their salads are actually better than most I’ve had in the city.
Tamara has been looking for a new black leather handbag so we went into literally every bag store and department store looking for one that was just right. I am now a qualified handbag consultant. Unfortunately the most perfect ones were all over $900. Yeah, even I won’t go there. There was a nice black Gucci bag that was like $750, but it was well over her budget, and it wasn’t leather. Ouch. That is just too much for something that is basically a fabric tote.
She ended up not getting anything except sore feet, which we cured by going into Macy’s and getting a pair of comfy and inexpensive Skechers.
Also Tamara gave me this little jar of eye cream she bought recently, which she said made her “crazy” since it has caffiene in it. Apparently she used it before bedtime and was up half the night with the jitters. She gave it to me thinking maybe it wouldn’t react the same with me, or thinking I might just give it to Ert, who is the one who recommended it in the first place. I tried it this morning, after consuming a cup of coffee, and was fine. Now lets see if it actually reduces undereye puffiness. Ert: let me know if you’re interested! It’s by L’oreal.
It was a very lady day. Except for the whole Seahawks thing.
I got an email from my brother today all excited about the Superbowl. I knew it. He’s a hundred times more excited than I am about this.
And now, I am going to the gym.
