Maybe because it’s Monday? I can’t muster the motorvation to get some work done. I got as far as putting the papers in order in front of me and saving a template document to use to build the page. Then I made a stupid livejournal icon about big beautiful ears. Zzzzzzzzzzzz.

It has been raining since yesterday. It woke me up last night, crashing against the side of the house, sounding like airplanes.

Brian and I went to the gym on Sunday, then had fake Mexican food, then he bought nice pants, then we went to Peets and ran through curtains of rain on Fillmore. It was a nice and very gray afternoon. Back home we [censored] and then just lay around talking for a long time which was swell. He has been working too much so getting time together with no computers or tv or anything to distract us is nice.

Then I goofed off online for awhile, finding Spoon interviews and kicking myself repeatedly for being so very, very late to the party that was right up my alley, especially given the fact that I should have been listening to them five years ago but somehow didn’t. They would have fit right in on my first iPod way back when. Oh well.

Nevertheless! I am so proud of them and they deserve a lot more attention and respect than they have now. It’s kind of appalling that so much terrible, mediocre music sells and is shoved in everyone’s face, and yet one of the best bands in the entire world (not hyperbole) is pretty much completely anonymous. Maybe it’s better this way? Maybe it is better to be able to walk around undisturbed by the perils of “celebrity” and still know that your music is making so many people happy. And you can quit the day job, too.
