I just made this deal with husband. Let’s just say a lot of it was probably fueled by my imminent PMS. But anyway.

I’ve been drinking too much coffee, and I really love green tea. So I said, “I am going to quit coffee and drink green tea instead throughout September.”

Brian replied that if I commit to that, he would buy my new trench coat (well, he already is doing that) and a “spa day.”

I was like, seriously? You’re on! But prepare yourself for four days of headaches and anger, particularly if I get my period.

Luckily the green tea I like still has a small amount of caffiene, so maybe the withdrawls won’t be so bad. I went to the Mighty Leaf web site and ordered the 100-pouch bulk pack of organic hojicha. It was on sale.

As for the spa day, the skincare line I sorta like is having a little event at the end of September at Nordstrom involving facials. I was gonna do that anyway. Yay! I haven’t had a facial in about a year, and that was at my friend’s bridal shower. It’s definitely a special treat for me.

So this is going to start on Friday, September 1. Oh I just can’t wait.

The last time I attempted to quit coffee, by day five I was already looking at cups of java with lust in my heart.

My girlfriend K and I are spending all of September drug- and alcohol-free. I don’t imagine the withdrawal will be bad, but I’m sure that some of the things I record on the TiVo won’t be nearly as funny without the THC.

Good for you! I hope it goes well. With most addictions, the first week is supposedly the worst. I’m glad I never started smoking.

i should really jump on the same track and do that too…but i get half price coffee at work so it’s just so nice! i think i could be dangerous without caffeine but at the same time, i think we are supposed to simmer down on the caffeine for the whole baby making thing. i haven’t looked into that much though because i really like my coffee. what to do, what to do!

I think I remember reading that you wanted to have a baby at some point ??? I just had one and let me tell you it is the longest marathon of no coffee or booze or gorgonzola or lunch meat or methylmercury tainted fish or pants that actually stay up or shoes with heels etc etc etc so swim in espresso while you can!!

    Back to lurking…
