ch 2.3

October 8, 2006 by Jane

I am determined to get this damn chapter done today, and if not today, then tomorrow. I worked on it for two and a half hours last night, and somehow only got about a page and a half done.

I took a long walk today. It’s hot in the city, even out in the Sunset. I walked over two miles, listening to saved up NPR podcasts and drinking an iced coffee. There was a story about some fiction author getting an $8M advance for their second novel. I was reminded of how I will never publish my book. This was actually comforting to me; I still enjoy writing it even though it’s doubtful that it will ever be read by anyone that I don’t know personally. It really takes the pressure off.

So I am sitting here eating crackers and peanut butter, and occasionally listening to the Blue Angels jets cracking the air as they fly across the Bay. Glad that’s over today.
