what’s for dinner

October 7, 2006 by Jane

Tonight: butternut squash soup with homemade sourdough parmesan croutons; arugala salad with walnuts, radishes, and honeycrisp apple.

Yesterday I took the day off and went down to Monterey with Allison and Jesse. We visited the aquarium and had a pretty great time hanging out with the otters and jellyfish and octopus. I enjoyed watching the kelp forest sway back and forth. I handled the drive home and was proud of myself since I don’t do much freeway driving.

The oddest creature we saw was this sunfish:

Allison observed that every other little girl at the aquarium was named “Madison.” I don’t think I will ever understand why parents give their kids names that are in the top ten list.
