OMG! Part One of my novel is done* !
Part Two is still only really half done. Part Three doesn’t really exist outside my imagination yet.
* and by “done” I mean I have completed four chapters that are now finished enough to be called a proper first draft and can be read from start to finish by trusted friends. By “done” I mean that I don’t think I need to add any more scenes, and I feel like the characters are all introduced coherently and are drawn very clearly. Of course it still needs a lot of work, but the overall framework is complete and I think it’s pretty tight. Word count: 19,055.

Wow, good for you. Think of all those sad sacks out there who want to write novels and never get around to it.
Thanks 🙂 Though, that sad sack was me for a very long time. And I still don’t know what happened. It wasn’t like I did anything special or read some “HOW TO WRITE A NOVEL!” book. I just came up with one little scene one day, like a little culture in a petri dish. I wasn’t looking for it, or planning for it to be a book at all.
