18. a photo of you at work
I thought I had a photo of me at my old desk back in like 1999, but I can’t seem to find it. So instead here is a pic from March of 2007, in the Gap Inc building at 2 Folsom. This was the view from my desk — through the atrium and out to the arrow sculpture and beyond to the Bay Bridge. It was a nice place to work, and the location was fantastic. I miss that sometimes.

14. a photo of one of your relatives
Here is my grandmother Metta. She died twenty years before I was born. I am told by my aunt that she was a smart, artistic, and spirited woman, which I am glad to hear.
She is holding my uncle Brad. I only met him once, a few years ago, even though he makes his home in the Bay Area. He might not have really known about me; he had a different father than my mom did. He is a scientist at Stanford and was part of the project that created GPS.

Obviously Brian is my best friend.
Here are two of my best girlfriends, Ert and Tamara, who were my bridesmaids.
I met Ert (as Robyn) in Olympia in 1993. We moved to California together.
I met Tamara at my job in 2000.
The two of them could hardly be more different from each other, but they are both amazing friends.

I generally dislike photos of myself but sometimes we get one that I find flattering. I picked this one because it’s a picture of how I would like my hair to look again once it has grown out. I got this haircut April 21, 2008. I took a pic of it with my phone on the way home, on the ferry.

11. a photo of you in your 20s
I am 22 in this picture. I was in a band for a few months and we played a handful of shows, including two or three times at Gilman St. in Berkeley. It was fun and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing with that guitar, btw. I was the lead singer.
